Mumbai Indians will kick start their IPL campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both the teams are doing their last-minute preparation and looking forward to start the tournament on a winning note. Recently, all-rounder, Kieron Pollard joined the team after completing his 7 days quarantine. The addition of this champion all-rounder would surely increase the confidence in the MI camp as he is considered as one of the destructive T20 players in the world and also one of the integral part of the MI setup.
According to the source “He left West Indies and joined the MI unit in Chennai. He has just finished his quarantine period as prescribed by the BCCI Standard Operating Procedure and that is why he wasn`t seen around in MI training activities.”
BCCI’s SOP excused only those players who were part of the India- England series. They were allowed to move straight into the Bio Bubble created by the respective franchise. “Players coming directly from the bubble created for India versus England series, may be permitted to join the franchise squad without serving the mandatory quarantine period, provided they satisfy the following criteria, after the conclusion of India versus England series, the players are moved directly to the franchise team hotel either in the team bus or on a chartered flight,” the SOP stated.
BBCI also stated that the breach of any bio-secure environment protocols by any cricketer or their families will be subjected to disciplinary action.
