Sheldon Jackson, the fiery wicket-keeper batsman from Saurashtra has been a part of the KKR squad for the 14th edition of the IPL. He on Monday said that his aunt passed away earlier in the evening after suffering from COVID-19. Jackson even arranged a bed for his aunt last week in Bhavnagar, after being in IPL’s strict bio-bubble. He chooses to stay and continue with the squad at their hard times. Jackson has been in strict quarantine as two players of KKR has been tested positive for COVID-19.
“I have lost my aunt this evening. She was the happiest when I got picked by KKR this season, and so I will continue with the team. I thank everyone who offered us help in the darkest hour, in every possible way, to try and save her. May God be with everyone, may she rest in peace,” Jackson said on Twitter.

Sheldon Jackson has even expressed gratitude towards BCCI secretary Jay Shah for assisting his family with getting an ICU bed for his aunt a week ago. Jackson had before tweeted that their family couldn’t get her aunt conceded at a medical clinic in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.

After hours of this news, BCCI confirmed that two KKR players Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have tested positive for COVID-19 before the match against RCB in Ahmedabad. So, Sheldon with all the other players along with the management and support staff have gone into a five days hard quarantine in their team hotel itself.
