On a tricky wicket to bat and ball on, Moeen Ali brought a stellar performance with both and won the game for CSK. In what proved to be a team effort to reach a good total of 188-9 in 20 overs Moeen Ali made an important contribution with the bat and scored 26 off 20 balls hitting two massive sixes in the process batting at number three, which set a good platform for the batsmen to follow.
In reply, Rajasthan began their chase with a good start taking 11 off the first over. Jos Buttler was looking all set and in good touch to make the chase possible. At halfway point, the match was in the total balance as RR were 81-2 and Jos Buttler was hitting it all around the park, with Morris Miller and Tewatia, Rajasthan had enough firepower to chase down 108 in 10 overs with due factor also to come in play.
Moeen Ali on the other hand had different plans as he ran through the Rajasthan Middle-order with his off-spin and gave no chance for the chase to happen. He took 3 wickets for 1 run at one point and ended his spell with figures of 3-7 in three overs. He took the big wickets of Morris and Miller who won Rajasthan the previous game from a very difficult situation on a tough pitch. His spell left very little for Rajasthan to play for and CSK took the match with a big margin of 45 runs in the end and Moeen was awarded Man of The Match for his heroics.
