Chennai Super Kings (CSK), after a disappointing campaign in 2020, lost their opening game against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in edition 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Now, on Friday CSK is ready to play its second game of the IPL 2021 against the team led by KL Rahul Punjab kings (PBKS) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Punjab Kings on the other side started their campaign with a 4 runs victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the same venue.
In the first match for CSK, middle-order batsmen played exceptionally well and posted 188/7, but the bowlers couldn’t survive the talent of the DC batters, as Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan made an easy win for DC. Captain MS Dhoni was not happy with his bowlers’ performance and in the post-match presentation he said “The execution of the bowlers was poor and there were boundary balls that they bowled.”
CSK who suffered a poor bowling performance in their first match is likely to make 1 or 2 changes in playing XI for the next match against PBKS. As last played matches at the Wankhede Stadium so far have seen the batsmen hitting big shots to the bowlers all around the park.
On that note let’s look at the Predicted Playing XI of CSK for match 8 against PBKS:
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo/Lungi Ngidi, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar
