IPL 2021: MI skipper Rohit Sharma admits their weak batting performances in Chennai

Mumbai Indians have lost both their games at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. After losing a match by six wickets to Delhi Capitals, Mumbai failed to defend a total of 131 against Punjab Kings, losing another game by nine wickets.

Moreover, Mumbai failed to put on a fighting score in both matches. So far the defending champions haven’t scored big on the scoreboard and have been on backfoot with their maximum batting potential.

However, the Hitman in the post-interview against Punjab Kings agreed on their lack of performance with the bat. He also mentioned that they lacked 20 to 30 runs in both games to make it defendable.

“It’s just the application, there is something missing with our batting. If you get 150-160 on this wicket you’re always in the game. That is something we have failed to do in the last two games”. Sharma said.

Mumbai has so far won two out of five matches still securing the fourth position in the points table. The team will now move to Delhi for its further games scheduled ahead in Vivo IPL 2021.
