IPL 2021: Mumbai Indian registers lowest powerplay score in the IPL 2021 edition

Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to field first against Mumbai Indians. Punjab’s strategy worked for them as they choked Mumbai for just 21 runs in the powerplay. This is so far the lowest total in the powerplay for the IPL 2021 edition. Apart from this, Mumbai only scored one boundary in the power play delivered by MI’s skipper Rohit Sharma.

Mumbai also lost a crucial wicket of Quinton de Kock (6) to Punjab’s all-rounder Deepak Hooda. It was Kolkata Knight Riders (17 for 4) last year, who became the lowest powerplay score playing against the RCB.

It will be intriguing to see if Mumbai can pick up momentum from here to score a fighting score against Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
