RCB had a handsomely constructed target of 180 ahead of them. To their unfortunate luck, Riley Meredith sent Devdutt Padikkal (7) back to the pavilion after getting hit for a six. It was later in the game when Harpreet Brar perfectly turned the pressure on RCB into his greatest asset and delivered with departing King Kohli.
This was Harpreet’s maiden IPL wicket and he was on cloud nine. But this was not the end of his happiness, Brar caught bowled Glenn Maxwell on the very next ball sending him home for a golden duck. RCB were in great trouble and Harpreet strikes again in his last over making Punjab riddance from the dangerous AB de Villiers. Brar also scored some important twenty-five runs including two biggies and a boundary in the death overs.
“My first IPL wicket was Kohli Paaji’s wicket and that was very special,” Harpreet said.
Punjab’s skipper KL Rahul appreciated the young lad (Harpreet Brar) for his game-changing performance and delivering the best at his IPL 2021 debut. Moreover, he received a sweet gesture of respect and appreciation from Kohli himself post-match.
“We were preparing him. I can say that now after this game”, Punjab skipper KL Rahul on Harpreet’s selection after six matches.
