IPL 2021 : Rohit Sharma fined with 12 lakh for maintaning slow over rate against Delhi Capitals

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was punished with a fine of 12 lakh after his team MI maintained a slow over rate in a match against Delhi Capitals played at MA Chidambaram Stadium on 20 April.

As the offence was committed by the team for the very first time IPL’s Code of Conduct imposed a minimum fine of 12 lakh.

As per the IPL guidelines, if offence is repeated again for the second time then the fine for the captain is doubled (24 lakh) while each member of the team has to pay 25% of match fee of 6 lakh whichever is less.

At the third instance, the captain has to pay a fine of 30 lakh and serve a one – match ban, while rest of the members of playing 11 are charged with 12 lakh or 50% of match fee whichever is less.
