IPL 2021: Scott Kuggeleijn roped in by RCB as replacement for Kane Richardson

Royal Challengers Bangalore has signed New Zealand pacer Scott Kuggeleijn to succeed Kane Richardson. Kuggeleijn already was a member of the IPL bio-bubble as a backup player for the Mumbai Indians, but he will now make the transition to significantly boost a team that has recently been struck by exits.

Besides Richardson, RCB also has lost Adam Zampa, with the Australian pair opting to return to Australia after Andrew Tye’s example. In 2019, Kuggeleijn played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. He was signed as a backup for Lungi Ngidi at the time and only appeared in a few games. The 29-year-old has represented New Zealand in a few ODIs and 16 T20Is, from his most recent episode being in December 2020. The Royal Challengers Bangalore will play Punjab Kings in their next match on April 30 in Ahmedabad.  It will be a treat to watch Kuggeleijn in action.
