In a chase of 196 on a flat Wankhede wicket against Punjab Kings ,Delhi Capitals began their chase on a high and Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan today gave a brilliant start to the chase.
After a furious innings of 32 in 17 balls Prithvi fell at the score of 59, but that didn’t stopped Dhawan and he took pff from where Shaw left.
He went on to score a cracking 92 off 49 balls striking at 188 with 13 fours and 2 humongous sixes. Dhawan today took full advantage of the power play over and kept hitting boundaries by finding the gaps and later he dominated the spinners by using his feet and also playing some unorthodox shots against seamers.
Dhawan partnered with Smith first and then with skipper Pant to take Delhi close to the target of 196 today and while trying to scoop a delivery by Jhye Richardson over fine leg he got bowled. He fell short by 8 runs of what would have been a deserving century.
