In a poised encounter between southern rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai , Glenn Maxwell the Australian allrounder hits his first fifty in IPL since 2016. Maxwell brought up his fifty in the 20th over off the bowling of Jason Holder by hitting the ball to deep mid wicket for 2 runs.
On a slow Chennai wicket Maxwell stood tall and helped his team to reach 149-8 after a middle order collapse, If it wasn’t for his fifty RCB were in a danger of scoring a real low total as the middle order collapsed after a steady start of 91-2 in 12 overs they fell to 109-6 in the 17th over.
Maxwell with the help of Kyle Jamison helped RCB post a respectable total on a tricky wicket to bat on.
Maxwell scored an IPL fifty after ages as his last on came for KXIP in 2016. Glenn Maxwell is looking good this season breaking some of his own records as he scored a six in IPL after two years in the last game against MI. He took 40 innings in between the two fifties that he scored which is 4th longest in terms of innings in the IPL history.
