Ab de Villiers once again came to the rescue for the Royal Challengers Bangalore after the top order was crippled down by the Delhi Capitals.De Villiers accompanied Rajat Patidar (31) guided RCB to a total of 171 for 5.

However, Ab came in and played a dependable innings scoring his 40th fifty in the IPL. He slaughtered Marcus Stoinis for 23 runs in the last over of the first inning including three huge sixes. He scored a not out 75 of just 42 balls with an explosive strike rate of 178.57 including three fours and five maximum.
