IPL 2021: West Indian batsman Nicholas Pooran to donate a part of his IPL salary for COVID-19 relief

Punjab Kings hard-hitting left-handed batsman Nicholas Pooran has decided to donate a certain amount of money from his IPL salary to help India fight against the second wave of COVID-19.

Pooran posted a video message on his social media account and made announcement of his donation for COVID-19 relief. He also mentioned “everyone to help in whatever way they can to help the country fight against the coronavirus crisis.”

He also said that “The healthcare system is overwhelmed right now. The people can’t get the attention they need because of the lack of oxygen supplies, I can’t comprehend to start.”
At last, he mentioned that “But it’s also heart-breaking to be so close to such tragedy that’s unfolding around us. For a country that has shown us so much love and support over the years, all I can do is join hands with my fellow players to help bring some awareness to this situation in India.”

Punjab Kings management soon after his announcement followed his footsteps and said that “To help the fight against #COVID19 in India, PBKS management has pledged to provide oxygen concentrators with the help of @roundtableindia! We also request everyone to join in and help in whatever way possible because together, we can!”
