The potential to track military targets across the middle east will be one of the great advantages for Iran and Russia which is preparing to provide Iran with the technology. This technology may be an advanced satellite, as reported on Thursday by the Washington Post.
The arrangement is set for Russia to deliver the Russian-made Kanopus-V satellite with a high-resolution camera which can be propelled from Russia within months, said the Post. The high-resolution camera will allow Tehran, the capital city of Iran, to keep a constant eye on a wide range of facilities spanning from the Persian Gulf oil refineries and Israeli military bases to Iraqi barracks that are home to the US troops.
The Post also mentioned that this launch could take place within months. The experts from Russia will have to visit Iran regularly during the early months of the year to help train squads. They would command the satellite from a newly built facility near Karaj west of Tehran.
The report transpired few days before US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin are set to convene in Geneva. Currently, Iran and the United States are also engaged in indirect talks on renewing the 2015 nuclear deal which was in place to put restraints on Iran’s nuclear program and in negotiation for easing economic sanctions.
