Iran’s elite military organization, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), announced on Tuesday that it will target American enterprises in the West Asia/Gulf region beginning April 1 in retribution for strikes on Iran, not just those operating on military bases, according to state media.
Microsoft, Google, Apple, Intel, IBM, Tesla, and Boeing were among the 18 corporations designated as under threat by the IRGC. “These companies should expect the destruction of their respective units in exchange for each terror act in Iran, starting from 8 pm Tehran time on Wednesday, April 1,” a statement issued by the IRGC said.
The list included Dell Technologies, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard or HP, Cisco, Intel, Oracle, Apple, Meta Platforms (which owns Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram), International Business Machines or IBM, JPMorgan Chase, Tesla, General Electric, and Boeing.
In its statement, the IRGC allegedly stated that information technology and artificial intelligence companies play an important role in planning and carrying out attacks against Iran. It is worth noting that the IRGC has issued similar threats in the past, but a deadline adds weight to this warning.
