Plot
Argylle tells the tale of reclusive introvert Elly Conway, who makes a fortune writing spy thrillers and is somewhat famous, though she does not take great pride in her notoriety. Elly gets writer’s block when penning her fifth book after hearing her mother criticise the book’s cliffhanger ending. Elly makes the decision to see her mother in order to decompress. While travelling by train with her cat Alfie, Elly unexpectedly runs into a man who claims to be both an intelligence agent and a fan. He clarifies that the villainous group Division from Elly’s books is genuine. Thus, Elly is in high demand as a prophetic writer with the ability to foretell significant future events.
But who wants her more than a cunning organisation with malevolent goals? In addition, Elly becomes a character in her own book when fact and fiction collide, shattering conventional ideas of author and authority while still adding a lighthearted ironic touch. If she wants to live any type of life again, she must now discover the Masterkey and protect it by escaping the skilled killers. Argylle is the ideal Sunday movie to watch with loved ones or friends because of its flawless editing, amazing action scenes, and lots of humour.
