Is the iPhone SE 4 launching in 3 months?

According to recent reports, Apple’s next-generation iPhone SE 4 may be released earlier than anticipated, possibly by the end of the first quarter of 2025. The iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to launch in March, according to Barclays analyst Tom O’Malley, who recently travelled to Asian electronics suppliers.

The preceding models, the iPhone SE 2 and SE 3, were released in early March and April of their respective years, so this timetable is consistent with Apple’s SE family. This implies that the gadget might be released in three months.

Although consumers on a tight budget have always been the focus of Apple’s iPhone SE series, the fourth-generation model is anticipated to be powerful with significant hardware improvements. A significant departure from the existing SE variants would be the iPhone SE 4’s alleged adoption of the base iPhone 14’s design.

The SE 4 is expected to have a 6.1-inch OLED screen, a single 48-megapixel rear camera, and Face ID for more secure verification. Additionally, a more recent A-series chip is anticipated to power the smartphone, along with 8GB of RAM, which would improve compatibility for Apple’s cutting-edge AI capabilities.

However, the addition of a 5G modem created by Apple is arguably the biggest improvement. In an effort to lessen its dependency on Qualcomm, the company that now supplies modems for iPhones, Apple has been developing its own 5G modem since 2018.

Apple appears eager to gradually switch to its own solution, even if it nevertheless renewed its modern supply agreement with Qualcomm earlier last year, extending it until 2026. The iPhone SE 4 may mark a major turning point in the company’s increasing hardware design independence if it does, in fact, come with Apple’s own 5G modem.

Apple seems to have more than one model in mind for their 5G modems, in addition to the SE 4. An Apple-designed 5G modem may also be included in the company’s next iPhone 17 Air, according to earlier speculation by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. However, there is no formal confirmation of these details.
