Israel issues advisory, warns its citizens in India against ‘possible terror attack’

Following a low-intensity blast near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi, which led to a high alert in the Indian capital, Israeli authorities have warned the country’s citizens in India to avoid public places and not engage in crowded events.

According to an advisory issued by Israel’s National Security Council on Tuesday, a “bomb exploded” near the embassy, and Israeli citizens in India, especially those in New Delhi, should avoid crowded areas such as malls and marketplaces.

According to police authorities, no one got hurt and no property damage was recorded from the blast site on Tuesday evening. During an extensive investigation by security officials, a letter addressed to the Israeli envoy was found at the scene. Following the blast, Israel’s deputy chief of mission, Ohad Nakash Kaynar, stated that all diplomats were safe and that Israeli security forces were assisting Indian authorities in their investigations.

According to a police official who asked not to be identified, a preliminary investigation indicated a “high-intensity cracker blast” in a wooded area on Prithviraj Road behind the Israeli embassy. According to the officer, a few people inside the embassy heard a loud bang, a security guard at a nearby building and a police official.

According to people aware of the matter, the typed letter wrapped in a flag found at the location mentioned Israel’s actions in Palestine.
