Son Jaden Smith claims that Jada Pinkett Smith exposed his family to hallucinogenic substances.
The 24-year-old discussed his experiences last week at a Psychedelic Science conference in Denver, Colorado, whose parents are Jada and Hollywood actor Will Smith. Jaden claimed that the medicines facilitated his emotional bonding and strengthening with his half-sibling Trey, 30, and sister Willow, 22.
Jaden remarked at the conference, “I think my mom was probably the first one to make that move for the family. For a very, really long time, it was just her, but ultimately, it slowly trickled and evolved, and everyone found it in their own ways, he continued. Only Colorado and Oregon have partially legalised psychedelic drugs, which are still banned in the majority of American states.
Jaden continued, “Siblings can argue and fight so much, and lord knows me and my siblings have done so much of that in the past,” in reference to how the drugs have improved his and his siblings’ relationships. “But the level of love and empathy that I can feel for them both inside and outside of the [psychedelic] experiences has been something that’s profound and beautiful.”
In a Red Table Talk broadcast from November 2021, 51-year-old Jada talked about her use of psychedelics. “I struggled with depression for so long,” she admitted. The benefit of plant medicine is that it not only improves your physical well-being but also addresses the underlying causes of your condition.
