Stunt Coordinator, producer, and debutant director James Bamford is ready to make his first feature film Jade, starring Shaina West, the rising star who will portray the titular character, Jade. The movie also features actors like Mickey Rourke, who will be playing an adversary, and Mark Dacascos, who will take the role of a former FBI ally. All Rights Entertainment, the Hong Kong, Paris, and Los Angeles-based production firm will be handling the rights and sales of the film and will also be taking up the responsibility to market the movie at the upcoming pre-Cannes virtual market at the Cannes Film Festival Market.
The movie tells the tale of a woman, Jade played by Shaina West, who is caught between a rich and powerful businessman and a gang leader in their attempt to get ahold of a hard drive that has the potential to damage the operations of Interpol. Jade also has an emotional conflict within the story, which shows the grieving of the titular character of the sister she accidentally kills, and along with protecting and retrieving the hard drive using her special set of skills will also have to protect her brother’s unborn baby, which is being carried by a surrogate.
Director Bamford has worked previously worked as a stunt coordinator for eight years at Warner Brothers’ Television studio productions and has almost up to 150 stunt credits on shows like Berlantiverse and The X-Files, and movies like Blade Trinity, 2012, and Aliens vs Predator. As a Gersch-represented director, he had helmed episodes of Arrow, Supergirl, Batwoman, and Superman & Lois.
Jade is being written by Lynn Colliar and Glenn Ennis, with Tetrad Studio producing the movie under Roy Scott MacFarland and Sam Levine, associate produced by Sophie Barry and executive produced by director James Bamford, Kimberly Hines, and Alex Toumayan. Jade is currently under production in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The completed movie is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2022.
