Jamie Lee Curtis is looking forward to a bright and hopeful 2025, as she shared in her recent conversation with People magazine at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Reflecting on the past year, she mentioned that she plans to leave disappointment behind and embrace a future filled with hope, acknowledging that 2024 had been tough for many.
One of the highlights for Curtis in 2025 will be the release of Freakier Friday, the long-awaited sequel to the beloved 2003 film Freaky Friday. Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are reuniting for the second installment, which will focus on their characters and two teenage girls switching bodies once again. Curtis humorously mentioned that the delay in making the film was partly because Lohan had to be “old enough to have a 15-year-old,” meaning she’s now playing a mom with a teenage child, making Curtis a “grandma.”
Curtis also teased that the sequel will offer plenty of nostalgia for fans, bringing back key elements from the original, including Pink Slip and Chad Michael Murray. Freakier Friday is scheduled for release in August 2025, and it sounds like it’s set to tap into the nostalgic magic of the original movie while offering a fresh twist. Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of the iconic duo.
