Jammu airport on alert after bomb threat email, declared hoax later

According to officials, a private airliner got a bomb threat email on Sunday, prompting a comprehensive anti-sabotage exercise at Jammu airport. However, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and police performed a comprehensive investigation without interfering with aviation traffic and found nothing unusual, the officials added.

“A private airliner received an email this morning, therefore a security exercise for such circumstances was conducted to rule out the presence of any explosive material. The email was a fake,” an official of the Airport Authority of India claimed.

According to him, a police report has been filed in this regard, and an investigation is being conducted to find the email’s sender.
