Janata Sahakari Bank Pune Moves to Unified Digital Banking Platform with TCS

Janata Sahakari Bank Pune (JSBL Pune) has announced a strategic partnership with Tata Consultancy Services to implement the TCS BaNCS™ Global Banking Platform, aimed at transforming its core and digital banking capabilities and strengthening customer engagement.

Through the deployment of TCS BaNCS™, Tata Consultancy Services will enable a seamless, integrated omnichannel experience for JSBL Pune customers across web, mobile, and branch networks. The modern banking platform is designed to support scalability, faster innovation, and a comprehensive digital ecosystem.

The transformation will cover critical banking functions including core banking, payments, trade finance, and AML/KYC compliance. JSBL Pune expects the new platform to drive growth, enhance omnichannel service delivery, improve credit quality, and strengthen enterprise-wide risk management and performance.

The implementation will also help the bank stay aligned with evolving Reserve Bank of India regulations, particularly in areas related to cybersecurity, digital banking frameworks, customer protection, and credit risk management.

Founded in 1949 with a strong commitment to social welfare and the co-operative movement, JSBL Pune is a leading urban co-operative bank with a broad national footprint. The bank provides savings accounts, deposit products, loans, and digital services to individuals and local and semi-urban businesses, while continuously adopting technology-driven innovation.

Jagdish P. Kashyap, CEO, JSBL Pune, said, “At Janata Sahakari Bank, our commitment has always been to deliver superior banking experiences to our customers, while serving their specific financial needs. By partnering with TCS BaNCS for our digital core transformation, we are taking a significant step forward in providing seamless, innovative, and customer-centric banking services. This transformation will empower our customers with faster, more intuitive digital solutions, ensuring that their needs remain at the heart of everything we do.”

Venkateshwaran Srinivasan, Global Head, Financial Solutions, TCS, said, “We are delighted at this partnership with Janata Sahakari Bank and extend our commitment to providing modern and secure banking solutions to the urban co-operative banking sector in India. We are happy to bring to JSB a future ready solution which incorporates some of the unique needs of this segment while also bringing in the best global practices and processes to help enhance JSBL’s position in the market with respect to customer experience, regulatory compliance and product innovation.”

The new ecosystem will enable digital onboarding, self-service portals, faster account opening, and improved service accuracy. API-driven scalability will help the bank respond to changing customer expectations and market developments.

Additionally, JSBL Pune will transition to digitised trade finance operations with real-time processing, integrated risk management, and advanced compliance monitoring and reporting capabilities.
