Actor Janhvi Kapoor has addressed the growing culture of online trolling, voicing strong support for her half-brother Arjun Kapoor. In a recent interaction with Grazia, Janhvi reflected on the constant scrutiny celebrities face and said she has learned not to take internet opinions too seriously.
Speaking about social media behaviour, Janhvi explained that many people are driven by visibility and engagement. According to her, celebrities often become easy targets for “clickbait” and “rage bait,” as their names generate attention. She said that once she understood this pattern, she stopped internalising harsh remarks and chose not to let them affect her personally.
However, she admitted that things become difficult when criticism crosses into bullying. Referring to the negativity directed at Arjun, Janhvi said there is no justification for harassment. She observed that online hate often snowballs, feeding more negativity, and stressed the importance of distancing oneself from such spaces.
In recent months, Arjun’s Instagram posts have seen a wave of critical comments about his films and performances. Last month, in an emotional note on his late mother Mona Shourie Kapoor’s birth anniversary, Arjun shared that life had been “cruel” lately but assured fans he would endure. The post prompted several supporters to urge trolls to stop targeting the actor.
