Janhvi Kapoor’s candid Dhadak audition story resurfaces ahead of Param Sundari release

Janhvi Kapoor’s candid revelation about her uncertain journey to bagging her debut film Dhadak has resurfaced, giving fans a glimpse of her early struggles before Param Sundari’s release.

Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor is currently in the spotlight as fans eagerly await her upcoming romantic comedy Param Sundari, also starring Sidharth Malhotra. Backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, the film tells the story of a Malayali girl from Kerala and a Punjabi boy from Delhi. With its first song Pardesiya already making waves, Janhvi’s look even reminded fans of her late superstar mother Sridevi.

Amid the excitement for Param Sundari, an old video of Janhvi discussing her Bollywood debut with Dhadak has resurfaced on social media. In a chat from two years ago, the actress revealed how she landed her first big break. She recalled giving auditions for Karan Johar, who had known her through designer Manish Malhotra, and treating it like a fun experience. “I thought nothing was going to come out of it. I was just happy auditioning for Karan and getting acting tips,” she shared.

Janhvi further revealed that she had to go through several readings with Dhadak director Shashank Khaitan using scenes from films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. However, she was never directly told she had bagged the film and remained uncertain for months. “I kept reading and thought it was just an acting workshop,” she said.

The actress has indeed come a long way since her 2018 debut. With Param Sundari releasing on August 29, Janhvi will soon be seen teaming up again with her Bawaal co-star Varun Dhawan in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
