Japanese billionaire invite the public to a trip to moon

Japanese billionaire entrepreneur Yusaku Maezawa has invited people from the public to join on a trip around the moon. He has kept the invitation open for eight people from all over the world.

The mission “dearMoon” will take place in 2023 and will be the first-ever civilian lunar mission. He released a video on Twitter to inform people about it. In his video message, he said, “I want people from all kinds of backgrounds to join.”

The trip to the moon will be on the rocket ‘Starship’ which is under development by SpaceX.

“I have bought all the seats, so it will be a private ride,” he added.

The two key criteria for selection will be “to push the envelope” of whatever activity you’re into to help people and society in some way. The second would be to support other crew members who share similar aspirations.

“This is the first private spaceflight, first commercial spaceflight with humans beyond earth orbit,” said Elon Musk.
