Jason Momoa is set to appear in the new DC Universe playing a highly anticipated role

Jason Momoa is set to join the newly rebooted DC Universe, but in a surprising twist, he won’t be reprising his role as Aquaman. Instead, he’s taking on the role of Lobo, the violent and irreverent intergalactic bounty hunter, in the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. This news comes after Momoa hinted at his love for the character in a past interview while promoting Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. He shared that Lobo had always been his favorite character, even stating, “It’s the perfect role.”

Momoa made the official announcement in a playful Instagram post, captioning a throwback screenshot from his interview with, “They called,” confirming that he had indeed received the call to play the infamous DC character. Lobo, known for his incredible strength, love for chaos, and notorious fights with Superman in the comics, will bring a new energy to the DC Universe under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran.

In Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Momoa’s Lobo will appear alongside Milly Alcock, who plays the titular Supergirl, Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin. The movie is shaping up to be an exciting chapter in the revamped DC Universe, with Superman, starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, set to kick things off on July 11, 2025. Fans can look forward to a more dynamic and bold DC landscape, with Lobo’s chaotic presence surely adding a unique flavor to the mix.
