Actor Jay Bhanushali has publicly come out in support of his former wife, Mahhi Vij, after she became the target of intense online trolling over alleged dating rumours with Nadim Nadz. The speculation gained momentum after Mahhi shared a birthday post for Nadim, prompting social media users to draw conclusions about her personal life.
Breaking his silence, Jay dismissed the rumours and expressed disappointment over the need to blame someone for a relationship ending. He said that separations do not always have a villain, but people often look for one regardless of the truth. Jay made his stand clear by resharing posts that called out the negativity surrounding the issue.
Actor Ankita Lokhande also stepped in to defend Mahhi, issuing a strongly worded statement in which she clarified that Nadim has always been a father figure to both Jay and Mahhi, and a parent-like presence to their daughter, Tara. Ankita urged people to stop spreading false narratives, stressing that she personally knows all those involved and that the assumptions being made are baseless. She also praised Nadim for standing by friends during difficult times and expressed her respect for him.
Jay echoed Ankita’s sentiments by reposting her statement on Instagram Stories, writing that he agreed with every word she said. He also shared Mahhi’s own post condemning the rumours, calling the speculation “disgusting” and asking people to stop creating false stories.
Earlier this month, Jay and Mahhi announced their separation after 16 years together through a joint statement. They emphasised that they will continue to co-parent their children and support each other, guided by values of peace, kindness, and mutual respect.
