Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who rekindled their romance in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022, have officially finalized their divorce in July 2024 after months of speculation. Their highly publicized relationship, once seen as a fairytale reunion, ultimately came to an end after a tumultuous year.
According to People magazine, a source close to Lopez revealed that her marriage to Affleck had become a far cry from the romantic dream she had envisioned. “The fairytale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end,” the insider shared, adding that Lopez is now focused on moving forward. “She’s in a really good place and just wants to close the door on this crazy chapter.”
Meanwhile, sources close to Affleck shared that the Justice League actor is keeping himself busy with work. He is currently involved in his latest project, RIP, alongside longtime friend and collaborator Matt Damon. “He enjoys working,” the insider noted. “He seems to be in a good place.”
As part of their divorce settlement, Lopez has stated that she does not seek spousal support from Affleck, and both parties have agreed to split attorney fees.
