Jeremy Renner has opened up about his Snowplow accident on the second anniversary of the horrific incident

Jeremy Renner recently marked his second “ReBirthday,” a term he uses to celebrate surviving his near-fatal snowplow accident. The actor took to Instagram to reflect on the traumatic experience, sharing a photo of himself on a stretcher wearing an oxygen mask, surrounded by medical staff who played a crucial role in his recovery.

In the heartfelt post, the Avengers star expressed immense gratitude to everyone who supported him during his recovery journey. He acknowledged the unwavering efforts of nurses, doctors, and first responders, saying, “I literally owe you my life.” Renner also gave a special shoutout to his nephew and neighbors, who acted quickly to help him right after the accident. He revealed that the initial 45 minutes in the hospital were a whirlwind of chaos as the medical team sprang into action to stabilize him.

Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, didn’t shy away from addressing the graphic nature of his injuries. Apologizing to the hospital staff for the disturbing images they had to witness, he wrote, “I’m so sorry for all the haunting images I imprinted on you all (I’ll spare you all from the meat grinding images).”

The accident, which occurred in early 2023, involved a massive 14,330-pound snowplow running over him, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and multiple fractures, including eight ribs broken in 14 places, a shattered right knee, a fractured ankle, and breaks in his left tibia, left ankle, right clavicle, and right shoulder.

Despite the grim prognosis, Renner credited his survival to the love, prayers, and support he received from people worldwide, alongside the dedication of his family, whom he said never left his side. Reflecting on his journey, he wrote, “With some divine intervention, a bit of luck, and a whole lot of miracles… I stand strong again.”

Since the accident, Renner has made an incredible recovery and returned to work. He even appeared in the third season of Mayor of Kingstown, which premiered on June 2, 2024. Looking back, Renner’s gratitude-filled post serves as a testament to his resilience and the power of collective support during life’s most challenging moments.
