Jesse Eisenberg has recently revealed a fun tidbit about his co-star Kieran Culkin’s feelings toward Home Alone. At the National Board Review Awards Gala on January 7, Eisenberg shared that Culkin actually enjoys when people bring up the classic holiday movie, where Kieran had a memorable role as the mischievous cousin, Fuller McCallister. Eisenberg joked, “What Kieran loves more than anything is for people to go up to him when they meet him and talk about Home Alone, so I did, yeah.”
When asked if he himself was a Home Alone super fan, Eisenberg humorously responded that it was hard not to be, especially at his age. Kieran’s role as Fuller, the younger cousin of Macaulay Culkin’s iconic character Kevin McCallister, has remained a beloved part of the film, which he often revisited during the holiday season.
In fact, during a Tribeca Film Festival panel in June, Kieran admitted that he had watched the movie so many times as a child that he had it fully “memorized.” However, he revealed that, at the time of filming, he had no idea what the movie was truly about. He only realized its significance when he saw the premiere and found himself laughing uncontrollably, saying, “I was like, ‘Well, I guess that makes sense. (Macaulay) was on set a lot. I guess he’s the lead of this movie.’” Despite not fully understanding the movie’s plot at the time, Kieran said he had fun working on it. It’s clear that Home Alone holds a special place for him, and it’s a subject he’s happy to revisit with fans!
