As the availability of vaccines is decreasing by the day, getting a slot for vaccination is getting harder. According to a PTI report, the Jio platform owned by Reliance Industries has started rendering information regarding the availability of the coronavirus vaccine via the WhatsApp chatbot in addition to other customer services. Jio users can use WhatsApp to make payments, recharge phones, ask questions and raise complaints using the Jio chatbot.

The service will now provide a hassle-free way for people to book their slots for vaccines without having to wait for hours for the one-time password and will not have to keep refreshing the page to see updates. Unlike different official online portals, the user can refresh the COVID-19 vaccine center and availability search by entering the ‘pin code’ in the chat. The service will be available on 7000770007 will respond by saying “Hi.” The chatbot does need verification of the user prior to accessing account-related information if used from a non-Jio network or an unregistered number.

This service is not limited only to Jio users, as other mobile network users can also use the chatbot for vaccine-related queries and recharging a Jio account. The added bonus for Jio users is that they can choose to enable mobile number portability service, support for Jio sim, any problems relating to JioFibre, JioMart, and international roaming can be clarified using the chatbot.
