BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Park Jung Min are gearing up for the premiere of their highly anticipated drama, Newtopia, set to air in January 2025. A new still from the drama, released on December 10, 2024, has only heightened excitement for the show, showcasing the cozy, romantic chemistry between the two leads.
This will be Jisoo’s first K-drama since Snowdrop, and fans are eagerly anticipating her on-screen return. Her chemistry with Park Jung Min is also a focal point, with the still sparking further interest in their dynamic.
Newtopia (formerly titled Influenza) is a fresh take on the zombie genre. Park Jung Min plays Jae Yun, a character who, after completing his mandatory military service, is struggling with anxiety and self-doubt about his future. His personal turmoil leads him to break up with his girlfriend, Young Ju, played by Jisoo. However, just as they meet to discuss the breakup, their world is turned upside down when a zombie attack occurs, pushing them into a fight for survival.
Alongside Jisoo and Park Jung Min, the drama will also feature Kim Joon Han, Im Sung Jae, Kim Chan Hyung, and more talented actors, promising an engaging and thrilling experience for viewers.
Currently, Jisoo is focused on expanding her acting career with additional projects in the works, including the film Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint and the drama Monthly Boyfriend. Meanwhile, Park Jung Min is also staying busy with multiple projects, including recent appearances in Harbin, Uprising, and The 8 Show, and is now preparing for his role in the film Humint.
With both stars involved in exciting projects, Newtopia is shaping up to be a must-watch in 2025.
