Joe Biden says Putin has ‘already lost’ war with Ukraine; US President pledges Kyiv’s admission into NATO

While expressing hope that Ukraine’s counter-offensive would force Russia to the negotiable table, the US President has stated, on Thursday, that Valdimir Putin has already lost the war with the neighbour country.

During a press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto, Biden said, “Putin’s already lost the war. Putin has a real problem,” as quoted by AFP. He added, “There is no possibility of him winning the war in Ukraine.”

The US President asserted that there were no real prospect of Russia using any nuclear weapons and the war would not be dragged on for years.

Though the NATO leaders could not give a timeline to Kyiv for its membership, during Finland summit, Biden and other members pledged that the country will one day join in alliance.

NATO leaders has dashed Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky’s hopes for a clear timeline to join the European alliance, by stating that the invite would be offered only when “conditions are met.”

Biden said that no country could become a NATO member while it is at war, with Ukraine joining now meaning a “third world war”, he vowed that the nation will one day be a part of it.

“It’s not about whether or not they should or shouldn’t join. It’s about when they can join, and they will join NATO,” Biden said.
