Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are working to settle their complicated divorce and custody battle. Attorneys for the estranged couple appeared in federal court in Manhattan for a pretrial conference, when they notified the judge of their plan to participate in 4 days of mediation beginning on Wednesday.
The main goal of this mediation is to address numerous issues that have arisen from their separation, including the establishment of a parenting plan for their two daughters, Willa (3) and Delphine (1). Sophie Turner, 27, is seeking that their children be returned to their “forever home” in England. Joe Jonas, on the other hand, wants a “50-50” joint custody agreement, according to his attorney.
During the hearing, it was acknowledged that despite their contentious breakup, both parties had been actively involved in their children’s lives. The judge set a trial date of January 2 for Joe Jonas, who had requested a date after the conclusion of his tour on December 9. Turner’s attorney, on the other hand, had pushed for an earlier trial date, claiming Sophie “has work commitments in the UK in January.”
