John Abraham Shares Memory of Being Denied Entry to His First Muhurat Shot

Bollywood actor John Abraham, who is currently promoting his new film The Diplomat, recently shared a memory from the early days of his career. In an interview with Filmfare, he recalled how he was once stopped from entering his own film’s muhurat shot because he arrived on a motorcycle.

Talking about the incident, John said it happened during the shoot of Aetbaar (2004). “Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan were present to clap the board for my film. Since I came on a bike, the security guards didn’t recognize me and asked, ‘Who are you?’ I told them I was there for my film’s muhurat, and they finally let me in. Hrithik and Amitabh sir were waving me in, and that moment stayed with me,” he said.

John, who has been part of the film industry for over 22 years, also reflected on how criticism has shaped his career. “After every film, people think it’s the end of my career. I’ve learned to accept the criticism and stay positive. It’s what keeps me going,” he said.

John started his Bollywood career with Jism in 2003, following a successful modeling career. Aetbaar, his fourth film, was a psychological thriller that also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

His latest film, The Diplomat, directed by Shivam Nair, is based on the real-life story of Indian diplomat J. P. Singh. Released on March 14, it stars Sadia Khateeb, Kumud Mishra, and Sharib Hashmi alongside John.
