John Abraham starrer The Diplomat day 1 box office collection

John Abraham’s action-thriller has made ₹4 crore on its first day at the box office, which is a respectable start. Released during the joyous Holi festival, the movie seems to have capitalised on the celebratory mood and drew a substantial audience.

The movie, which came out on Friday, made about ₹4.00 crore (nett) on its first day in India, according to Sacnilk. As per the trade tracker, the movie’s entire Hindi first day occupancy rate was 20.45%. In terms of attendance, the morning performances saw a modest 7.31 percent, but the afternoon shows saw a notable increase to 19.42 percent.

The turnout for the night shows was a solid 26.56 percent, after the evening shows peaked at 28.50 percent. According to the platform, the movie has made ₹0.26 crore in registered revenue so far, for a total of ₹4.26 crore.

Based on the true story of Indian national Uzma Ahmad, the film was directed by Shivam Nair (of Naam Shabana fame) and starred Sadia Khateeb and John Abraham in the key parts. After allegedly being honey trapped by a Pakistani man, she was returned to India in 2017. She revealed that after visiting him in his homeland, she was mistreated and forced into marriage at gunpoint.

The story focusses on senior diplomat JP Singh’s efforts to save the Indian woman who was enticed to Pakistan in 2017 by a man who claimed to marry her. Singh is currently the envoy to Israel. Throughout the movie, John plays Singh.
