Johnny Depp is best known for playing Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. This performance gained him immense fame and wealth. Depp’s working relationship with Disney, however, ended after his ex-wife Amber Heard accused him of domestic abuse during their marriage.
Johnny Depp later sued Amber for $50 million in damages, claiming she defamed him by writing that she is a ‘public figure representing domestic abuse’. Depp won the legal battle against ex-wife Heard.
People began speculating that Johnny Depp would return to his legendary role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Disney’s next Pirates of the Caribbean film after Johnny Depp won the defamation trial against Amber Heard.
According to the Daily Mail, the actor will not reprise his role as Jack Sparrow in Disney’s next Pirates of the Caribbean film. As per the publication, Depp was not happy with Disney’s treatment of him during the Amber controversy and will not be returning to the studio anytime soon, even if it meant losing a large paycheck in the millions. Even during the defamation trial, the actor stated that his collaboration with Disney was over. Following Heard’s allegations, Disney dropped Depp from the 6th Pirates of the Caribbean film.
