Joker 2: Todd Phillips shares a captivating glimpse of Joaquin Phoenix in Gotham City

It has been over 4 years since the first look of the Joker sequel came out in the public domain. Todd Philips, the film’s director, took to Instagram this week to post a picture from the forthcoming movie featuring Joaquin Phoenix. This raises the bar for the upcoming project. The next film, Joker: Folie à Deux, is set to pose as the sequel to the 2019 DC movie.

Todd Phillips, the director of the much awaited sequel to the 2019 hit film Joker, has just offered fans an amazing sneak peek at Joker: Folie à Deux. This new picture shows Joaquin Phoenix returning to his role as the enigmatic and iconic Batman villain, the Joker, after six months of anticipation. Joker: Folie à Deux is set to be released in 2024.

However, it should be noted that this film will exist separately from  James Gunn’s DC Universe and will be part of DC’s innovative Elseworlds brand, which showcases unique projects that do not follow the timeline of the new DC Universe.

Todd Phillips’ Instagram post gives an interesting look into the world of Joker: Folie à Deux. The image shows Joaquin Phoenix’s character, Arthur Fleck, standing in the rain, surrounded by a multitude of people holding colorful umbrellas. As Arthur Fleck gazes upwards, seemingly loving the rain, the Joker looks to be relishing the moment.
