Wimbledon 2023 has seen lots of bad weather, with rain causing problems. On Day 2, 22 matches were cancelled and the rescheduled games were postponed again on Day 3 owing to bad weather. In the meanwhile, 10 of the 18 second round matches scheduled for Day 3 have also been cancelled.

Aside from the bad weather, the Grand Slam was halted on Wednesday by environmental protestors who entered the courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. The environmental activist group made headlines during the present Ashes series after invading the pitch.

Just Stop Oil protestors first invaded Grigor Dmitrov’s first round game against Sho Shimabukuro at Court 18 on Wednesday. A couple of protestors disrupted the game by throwing orange confetti on the court and placing a jigsaw puzzle in the centre. During Katie Boulter’s first round match against Daria Saville, the activist group did a similar act on Court 18.
