Filmmaker Kabir Khan has sparked fresh buzz about a new collaboration with Kartik Aaryan, hinting that the duo could soon return with another project after the success of their 2024 sports drama Chandu Champion. Speaking at the 56th International Film Festival of India in Panaji, Kabir shared that talks are progressing well and an official announcement may arrive within a month.
Kabir revealed that he has already written the script, but several elements still need to align. He explained that Kartik’s dates, studio backing and other production factors must be finalised before anything is confirmed. The filmmaker sounded optimistic, describing the project as “exciting” and very much in his creative zone.
According to Kabir, the story is a powerful human interest drama layered with a larger backdrop of politics and society. He called it the kind of narrative he enjoys exploring emotionally engaging yet set against a wide canvas.
The director, known for films like Kabul Express, New York, Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, also expressed enthusiasm about working with producer Sameer Nair and Applause Entertainment on multiple ideas. Kabir praised Nair for backing unconventional stories and helping them succeed despite industry hesitation, noting that his instinct for storytelling makes him a strong creative collaborator.
