Kalamkaval, a Malayalam movie, had a strong first weekend at the box office. In the first three days of its theatrical run, the Mammootty film made just over Rs. 44 crore at the global box office. The Malayalam action film, which debuted on December 5, 2025, made Rs. 15.65 crore at first, followed by Rs. 15.45 crore on Day 2 and Rs. 13.40 crore on Day 3, for a total gross of Rs. 44.50 crore worldwide.
Its home state alone brought in approximately Rs. 15.50 crore, and the rest of India contributed over Rs. 4 crore gross, for a domestic total of Rs. 19.50 crore gross in just three days. In Kerala, where it debuted with Rs. 5.00 crore and continued to record an upward trend throughout the weekend, Kalamkaval is doing the best. On Day 2, the Mammootty film brought in Rs. 5.10 crore, and on Day 3, it brought in a healthy Rs. 5.40 crore.
The action drama saw a decrease on Sunday in international markets, particularly in the Middle East, despite an increase in local sales. This decline on Sunday makes sense because, in the majority of overseas countries, films often experience a significant increase on Saturday before either declining on Sunday or being unchanged. Kalamkaval, which was directed by rookie Jithin K. Jose, received overwhelmingly favourable reviews.
Pre-sales for Monday in its home state are encouraging, suggesting that it will be another huge day at the box office. By the conclusion of Day 4, Monday, it is expected to surpass the Rs. 50 crore global milestone.
