Kamala Harris will make her debut in the United Nations as the US Vice-President next week. She will be addressing the annual United Nations meeting for the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.
Harris will speak at the 65th Commission on the Status of Women on March 16. Washington will also be joining the UN “Group of Friends for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls,” UN Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield said.
The UN will play a vital role to battle gender base and sexual brutality around the globe. The global organization will strive for more women to be included in peace talks worldwide.
