Kangana Ranaut is once again at the centre of attention after making a bold comparison between her rise to fame and that of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Speaking at a recent event in Delhi, the actress-turned-politician claimed that her journey to success has been far more challenging than his, primarily due to her humble rural background.
Explaining her stance, Kangana stated that her path was filled with obstacles that urban-born actors may not face. “There is probably nobody else who came from a village and got such success in the mainstream. You talk about Shah Rukh Khan. They are from Delhi, convent-educated. I was from a village that nobody would have even heard of – Bhamla,” she said.
The actor also shared that she remains unapologetically honest about her views. “Maybe others may disagree, but I feel it’s because I am brutally honest, not just with people but with myself too,” she added confidently.
However, her comparison with Shah Rukh Khan did not sit well with many social media users. Several netizens accused her of trying to downplay SRK’s struggle, with one commenting, “Taking SRK’s name in the statement is proof enough she wanted to show herself as a bigger person.” Others suggested that she should focus on her craft instead of courting controversy, writing, “Kangana, why don’t you just deliver a beautiful movie like you used to?”
