Kangana Ranaut mourns Poonam Pandey’s death, says, ‘losing young woman to cancer is catastrophe’

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who hosted Lock Upp season 1, called Poonam Pandey’s death a ‘catastrophe’. She wrote a note on Instagram after hearing of Poonam’s death, which shook her.

The actress wrote, “This is so sad, loosing a young woman to cancer is a catastrophe. Om Shanti Many people were shocked this morning when the news broke that Poonam Pandey had died at the age of 32 from cervical cancer. Her team posted an official statement on Instagram, and her manager confirmed the tragic news.

The statement reads, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”

Pandey came from a Kanpur family and began her modelling career. After becoming among the top nine contestants in the Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest, she was featured on the cover of a popular fashion magazine.

She got the lead female role in the 2013 movie Nasha. On September 1, 2020, Pandey and her longtime partner, Sam Bombay, tied the knot. The couple decided to have a private wedding ceremony at their Mumbai home, with close friends and family in attendance. But on September 11, ten days after the wedding, Pandey filed a complaint against Sam, accusing him of assault, threats and molestation.
