Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep’s mother, Saroja Sanjeev, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, October 20, at Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru. She had been battling age-related ailments for some time. Her mortal remains are expected to reach her residence in JP Nagar, Bengaluru, today, where her family and loved ones will gather to pay their last respects.
According to reports, her final rites will take place later today. Sudeep, known for his close bond with his mother, had often shared touching tributes to her over the years. On Mother’s Day a few years ago, he expressed his deep love for her on social media, writing, “A very happy mother’s day to every mother, for your unconditional love and never-ending sacrifices. Happy mother’s day to you too, Amma, for just about everything.”
Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, extended his condolences to the actor and his family via his X handle, saying, “I pray that the departed soul may rest in eternal peace and may the Lord grant Sudeep and his family the strength to bear the pain of bereavement.”
In 2020, Sudeep had penned an emotional note on his mother’s birthday, recalling her unwavering support and joy in his achievements. “You believed in me when many gave up. I remember the happy feeling you’d have when I’d win a prize at school. I see the same happiness in you till date,” he wrote.
