Kantara Chapter 1 worldwide closing box office: becomes the second-highest-grossing sandalwood film ever with over ₹800 crore

The box office run of Kantara: Chapter 1 is nearly over. In its eighth week, the movie earned about Rs. 50 lakhs, bringing its total to over Rs. 701 crore. The movie has made an additional Rs. 112.50 crore (USD 12.63 million) abroad, bringing its total box office receipts to approximately Rs. 813.50 crore.

The film starring Rishab Shetty had the most local and international box office receipts of any Indian film this year. After KGF Chapter 1, it is the second-biggest Sandalwood movie ever made. All things considered, it is the seventh highest-grossing movie ever made in India and the thirteenth globally. The movie is the greatest grossing movie of all time in its home state of Karnataka, surpassing the original Kantara by more than thirty percent.

Kerala and Tamil Nadu are the movie’s next top performers; in the former, it made over six times as much money as the original Kantara. The movie’s Hindi dubbing also went well, bringing in Rs. 208 crore. In comparison to industry expectations, the film’s Hindi debut was lackluster, but in the end, it performed admirably and earned a respectable final score.
