Kapil Sharma has finally spoken about the repeated firing incidents at his Canadian restaurant, Kap’s Cafe, which has been attacked three times since it opened in Surrey, British Columbia, this July. The actor-comedian addressed the issue during the trailer launch of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, offering a calm yet firm response to the worrying episodes.
When asked about the shootings, Kapil said he had faith that the situation was being handled seriously by authorities. “What I feel is that the rules there and the police perhaps don’t have the power to control such an incident. But when our case happened, it went to the federal government, and there was a discussion in the Canadian parliament,” he shared, highlighting how the case drew high-level attention.
Remarkably, Kapil also revealed that each attack resulted in even more local support for the establishment. “After every firing incident, we got a bigger opening at the cafe. So it is all ok if God is with me,” he said, adding that he is not afraid despite the threats.
Kap’s Cafe was first targeted within days of its opening, with additional shootings reported on August 7 and October 16. No injuries were reported and no group has claimed responsibility so far.
Kapil said members of the Indian film fraternity and people living in Canada reached out to him after every attack, assuring him that action was now being taken to strengthen law and order in the area. For the comedian, their concern and the official response have brought reassurance during an unsettling period.
