Filmmaker Karan Johar has given a glowing shout-out to the team of Tu Yaa Main, describing the survival thriller as an edge-of-the-seat experience that left him visibly shaken. Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Johar said the film was “traumatising in the best way possible,” adding that its tension lingered even after the credits rolled.
Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Tu Yaa Main revolves around a chilling crocodile survival plot. Johar remarked that the second half was so gripping that viewers might “physically jump out of their seats.” He even joked that after watching the film, he felt as though a crocodile could attack him in the middle of Mumbai traffic.
The filmmaker had special praise for lead actors Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav. Calling Shanaya’s performance assured and convincing, Johar said she balanced vulnerability and intensity with perfection. He described Adarsh as “just brilliant,” noting that he could feel every bit of the character’s fear on screen.
Johar also congratulated producers Aanand L Rai and Vinod Bhanushali for backing what he termed a “clutter breaker,” urging audiences to watch it in cinemas this Valentine’s season.Reacting to his praise, Shanaya thanked him warmly, while Adarsh responded with heart emojis. Rai expressed gratitude for the appreciation, calling Johar’s words overwhelming.
