Karan Johar reveals that he got the idea for “Fabulous Lives” while going for a chautha

Karan Johar reveals that he got the idea of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Lives while he was flying to Delhi with the four wives to attend a friends father’s Chautha.

Karan Johar, the directed and producer opens up about how he came up with the idea for the show, “Fabulous lives of Bollywood wives.” He revealed that it happened on a flight to Delhi with the 4 “wives” when they were off to pay condolences to a friend who lost their father.

While on flight, they had extremely funny and bizarre conversations that got him thinking that the 4 should have a show of their own to showcase their pompous and crazy lives.

Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, sees 4 top Bollywood wives namely, Maheep Kapoor (wife of Sanjay Kapoor), Seema Khan (wife of Sohail Khan), Neelam Kothari ( wife of Samir Soni) and Bhavana Pandey (wife of Chunky Pandey), all adding to the glamour of the show with their individual personalities and drama. The first season was aired on the OTT platform, Netflix and was a huge hit and Season 2 is under works.

In a reunion interview with the entire cast of the show, Karan reveals how he got to thinking about producing a show of it’s kind. Amongst all the fun conversations they had onboard, they were discussing how appropriate or otherwise their attire’s were for a prayer meet and Neelam had worn a shiny white Kurta while Maheep seemed underdressed for a Chautha. The craziness, the friendship and the drama convinced Karan that the ladies need a show of their own.

Having Neelam on camera was easy given that she has been accustomed to over 40 films and how they work. As for the rest, they were technically virgins to the camera and Karan says that they were absolutely natural on camera, the way they are in real life.
